The weather pattern in West Bengal is undergoing a shift once again, as per a statement released by the regional headquarters of the Meteorological Department in Alipore. It has been forecasted that Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong in North Bengal will experience continuous rainfall throughout the day, while light drizzles are expected in some parts of South Bengal. Despite the rainfall, the region is likely to experience persistent heat, with Kolkata recording a minimum temperature of 26.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal, and a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal.
Other parts of the state, including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura, have also witnessed a considerable drop in temperature. The minimum temperatures in these areas range between 25 to 34 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department anticipates similar weather conditions throughout the week, with intermittent light rain and a slight decrease in temperature. However, the prevailing cloudy skies and stagnant hot winds are expected to maintain a humid atmosphere, leading to a persistent feeling of heat.
